The cost of an average funeral today is around $5000*. When there is a death in the family, it is comforting to know that you and your family are protected from the added worry of covering the costs of a funeral. We have designed a plan that will pay this amount in cash without any hassles or lengthy claim processes. Funeral cover offers a simple, affordable way to cover the unexpected costs involved with a funeral.

Guaranteed acceptance!

• Cover is guaranteed for anyone aged between 10 and 75.
• No medical information is required and premiums are not affected if you are a smoker.
• You can insure up to 10 additional family members or friends on your policy. (nb: all their premiums are charged to your account).
• You can nominate the beneficiary of your choice; otherwise any claim will be paid to your estate.

What’s not covered?

• The cover ends when the insured person turns 76 years old.
• There is no cover for children aged less than 10 years old.
• Only accidental death is covered in the first 12 months so there is no cover for death by natural causes or suicide – all premiums paid during this time are fully refunded. After 13 months you are fully covered.

How do I sign up?

Contact us for an application form to be sent to you or pick one up next time you visit one of our branches. Each insured person needs to complete and sign their own application form (unless they are under 16 in which case the parent or legal guardian must sign for them). The beneficiary is not required to sign at all but you will need to know their full name, address and contact phone number for claim purposes.

Once you have completed the application, post it back to us or drop it in to one of our branches.

How much will it cost?

Premiums are age based and will increase as each new age band is reached:

Premiums are charged to your nominated First Credit Union (S1) Everyday account or (S3) Billpay account at the end of each month.
