First Credit Union staff give back to the community
First Credit Union (FCU) Hamilton staff are doing their bit to give back to their community as the festive season approaches.
General Manager, Simon Scott, said that staff are conscious of the fact that Christmas can be a very stressful time for our members and the communities we serve.
FCU’s Marketing and Communications team assisted St Vincent de Paul to prepare and serve lunch on Friday 13th December.
“As an organisation that’s based on ‘people helping people’ it makes sense that we assist other like-minded organisations to make a difference this year.”
“St Vincent de Paul’s helps those in genuine need in our community and the team were eager to help out this year.”
In addition to offering their time, the team presented St Vincent de Paul’s with a cheque for $500 on behalf of the staff at the Hamilton branch.
“The staff at our Hamilton branch held a mufti day on Friday 13th December, and all funds raised were donated directly to the Hamilton branch of St Vincent de Paul.”
Casey Taurua of St Vincent de Paul’s said that First Credit Union’s assistance was well received. “We enjoyed having the team on-site to help with our lunch service, and gratefully accept the cheque from the staff in Hamilton. Everything helps at this time of year.”
