Mastercard® ID Check

Online shopping certainly makes life easier. With just a few clicks, you can virtually have the world delivered to your door. And at First Credit Union it’s our job to keep you safer while you’re shopping online, and to make sure the only person making purchases with your Mastercard is you.

We have introduced a quick and easy extra layer of security called Mastercard® ID Check. Mastercard® ID Check helps us make sure it’s definitely you (and not someone pretending to be you with your card) online.

Here’s how it works

  1. When you make a purchase at some online retailers you may see an extra screen pop up while your payment is being processed. This could be because it’s a high-value purchase or one we think is unusual for you.
  2. We’ll instantly send you a One-Time Passcode via SMS or email. That’s why it’s important we have your latest contact details.
  3. Enter this One-Time Passcode and we can then complete your transaction. It’s quick, easy and it won’t slow you down. It just keeps you safe.

Are your contact details up to date?

Please make sure the mobile phone number and email address we have for you are correct. If we can’t send the One-Time Passcode to you, the purchase can’t be approved. You can update your details by contacting our Call Centre or visiting one of our branches.

Please read these Terms and Conditions before using Mastercard Identity Check service.
