Global Bridges in New Zealand

First Credit Union (FCU) had the pleasure of hosting representatives from the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions (WFCU) and Virginia Credit Union this week.

The visit forms part of a WFCU and the World Council of Credit Union’s (WOCCU) Global Bridges Study Tour – which aims to connect credit unions and financial cooperatives across the global movement.

Simon Scott, FCU Chief Executive is pleased to have the opportunity to show Mike Reuter (WFCU President) and Rob Jones (Virginia Credit Union) more about what FCU is doing for their members and local communities. “This visit is an opportunity to share information and knowledge with our global peers, and to highlight the passion our staff have to support members achieve their financial goals.”

Rob, a Board member of Virginia Credit Union was able to leverage off the opportunity to share ideas and knowledge with the FCU Board.

During their time with the FCU team Mike and Rob met with Senior Management, Board of Directors and staff. They enjoyed visiting the FCU Te Aroha branch and were treated to a tour of the new K’aute Pasifika wellness centre.

Simon adds “FCU is part of a global network of Credit Unions in 118 countries, serving close to 400 million members. As an organisation its always important to remember that we are part of something bigger.”
