Google Pay Is Here - What You Need To Know

We’re excited to announce that Google Pay is finally here! First Credit Union members can now use Google Pay with their First Credit Union Mastercard Debit Card. Google Pay lets you make fast, secure, contactless payments using your Android device- so you can leave the wallet at home!   

Getting started is simple, just follow these steps: 

  1. Download the Google Pay app from the Google Play Store on your Android device.
  2. Open the app and follow the prompts to add your First Credit Union Debit Card.
  3. That's it! You're ready to start tapping and paying.  

To use Google Pay for contactless payments, you'll need an Android smartphone or tablet running Android 5.0 or higher. Your device also needs to support NFC (Near Field Communication). You can check for this in your phone's settings.  

How to Pay with Your Phone  

Using Google Pay is designed to be effortless: 

  • In Stores: Simply wake up your phone (no need to open the app) and hold the back of it near the contactless payment terminal. Look for the blue checkmark or listen for the beep. For security, you'll need to unlock your device after every few transactions. 

  • In Apps & Online: When checking out in your favourite apps or websites, just select the Google Pay button. Your payment and shipping info will be filled in automatically - no more typing out card details.
